Family Promise of South Palm Beach County
Family Promise of South Palm Beach County has been instrumental in helping children and families in South Palm Beach County who have become temporarily homeless get back on their feet and into a home of their own. In only its third year of operation, Family Promise of South Palm Beach County has become one of many strong advocates for less fortunate children and families who find themselves in difficult financial situations.
Mission Statement:
Believing that every child deserves a home, we exist to provide temporary shelter for homeless families in South Palm Beach County so that they can acheive lasting independence.
The Palm Beach County School System reported a large increase in homeless students during 2010. There were over 1500 reported homeless children in Palm Beach County
school systems.
National Facts:
Over the course of a year, 3.5 million people experience homelessness; 1.35 million of them are children.
Families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population, representing about 40% of all homeless people (NCH, June 2006).
